How to lose weight and not lose weight and be happy and healthy anyway.

I haven't done a post about my weight in a while. I don't know how much I weigh, I'm not on any medication and I'm not super interested in what I do or do not eat anymore. You can read my initial post on this whole struggle here. I know that I have gained weight. I've been ricocheting between obsession and nonchalance over my body for a few weeks. In the end, my thyroid and full blood count results came back completely normal. There is no medical reason for my larger thighs. It's all me!

In an effort to establish the source of my sudden weight gain, my doctor prescribed what he calls a 'mood stabilizer' that has "anti depressant" labeled all over the packaging. I'm not a fan of medication, especially mind or mood altering things. I haven't taken any of them and I don't think I will or need to.

MYTHS SURROUNDING WEIGHT LOSS AND HEALTHIER LIVING

Maintaining a healthy weight is quite the challenge. While men and women are both concerned about their waist lines, women generally are more concerned
While the internet has made information more widely available, individuals fall prey to some inalienable “truths”. Below are some myth busters that enhance our understanding of healthier living.
MYTH #1: SKIPPING MEALS/STARVING ONESELF IS THE BEST WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT
Most women consider crash dieting or skipping meals as the only way to lose weight. While weight loss can be achieved with such diets, it often leads to reduced metabolism which slows down further weight loss.

Losing baby weight is as easy as one, two, Wii: Video games could help new mothers

  • Study showed new mothers lost average of 11lbs in three months
  • Just 45 minutes of exercise every other day was enough to shed weight
  • Using an 'exergame' could be a cheap alternative to a gym

Playing video games could help new mothers get back to their pre-pregnancy weight.
A study found that women rapidly shed their baby weight after exercising using active video games every other day for just three months.
The women, who had given birth in the previous year, lost an average of 11 lbs without leaving the comfort of their own living room.
A study of new mothers showed that 'exergaming' for 45 minutes every other day for three months lost them an average of 11lbs in weight

Previous studies on ‘exergaming’ have produced mixed results.
But with weight retained from pregnancy posing a threat to the woman and any future child, and many new mothers finding it hard to fit in exercise, the latest research suggests it could be a cheap and effective alternative to the gym.
Eight new mothers used a Wii Fit console to mimic the movements of activities including jogging, yoga, skate boarding and hula hooping for 45 minutes three or four times a week.
At the start of the study, they were around 18lb heavier than before giving birth.

Lose The Weight, Gain Your Life: My Journey On Losing 100 Pounds week 4

"Then what?!"
This question is one that the Daniel Plan introduced to me this week as something to ask prior to eating a food.
Last week, you'll recall I was introduced to the new concept of calling processed foods "food like substances" and when I accompanied that with the "then what" question I was able to reduce my food consumption.
I went to eat a few oreos but then it popped in my head that it's not a real food, it's a food like substance. Sure it tastes good but my body won't benefit from eating it, in fact, it would probably hurt my body.  I still wanted to eat the oreos but then I asked myself "then what?"  Then what happens is that I'll be mad at myself for eating a foodlike substance. Then what happens is my body won't....
