Job hunt shouldn't be 'weight-and-see' issue

Q. My divorce is now final and I need to go back to work. When I asked my sister, who is in Human Resources, what she thought of the résumé I had done, she was impressed but she said I should lose weight before sending it out. I have always been a big woman and she says that is a real turn-off for interviewers because they think someone overweight is going to be lazy. Is this true?
