Diet -- “it’s a four-letter word that stirs up a lot of emotion,” Dr. Travis Stork said, referring to the “D word” on today’s episode of “The Doctors.” But despite that, and perhaps to un-demonize the word, he has written a new weight-loss book and unveiled it today.
“When you hear ‘diet’ it’s just a pejorative term,” Dr. Stork said. “You think of diet, you think of deprivation, you think of misery, you think ‘this is going to be painful.’ But the one thing I want people to understand is you can be healthy and still love food. You can actually use food as your medicine – not your poison – and enjoy it and lose a lot of weight doing it.”
As an emergency room physician, Dr. Stork says he sees a lot of people with medical emergencies – and a lot of them are in the emergency room because of their diet.
