When Linda Halpenny sees her son Conor heading off to play sport she feels so proud.
Conor, 21, has Down’s Syndrome and was born with two holes in his heart.
Signing up to Slimming World has not only helped him lose weight but has given him the confidence to put himself out there in the world.
Linda explained: “Last year I took Conor to the doctor because he wasn’t feeling well.
“Like a lot of children with Down’s Syndrome he had two holes in his heart when he was born and people with the condition are inclined to put on weight, which I wasn’t aware of.
“He was tired and not himself – his general health wasn’t great and I took him up for tests.
“Luckily there wasn’t anything seriously wrong but the GP just said to me he was very overweight.”
