Health and wealth a 2014 priority for one in four households

When weighing up your options on how you will follow through with your health-focused new year's resolution, keep in mind that dieticians are warning Australians to avoid fad detox diets and instead make realistic and achievable goals when dieting.Thinkstock File
QUEENSLANDERS are aiming for better health and wealth, with almost one in four households listing this as their priority in 2014.
According to ING DIRECT's Financial Wellbeing Index to improve their financial position, 24% of Queenslanders plan to stay on top of their personal debt, 22% will spend less and 21% plan to increase their income.
Dieticians are warning Australians to avoid fad detox diets when making their healthy resolutions, and instead make realistic and achievable goals when dieting.
More than 200 dieticians across Australia participated in the annual Dieticians Association of Australia survey on which diets to avoid in 2014 - the Lemon Detox Diet came in first as the worst diet for the third year running, closely followed by SkinnyMe Tea and the Ashy Bines Bikini Body Challenge.
